What is Lincoln ActiveGlide*?

ActiveGlide allows for true hands-free driving on prequalified sections of divided highways called Hands-Free Blue Zones that make up over 130,000 miles of North American roads.

ActiveGlide uses blue lighting on the digital instrument cluster to indicate when the vehicle is in a hands-free zone.

Your refined 2022 Lincoln Navigator® large luxury utility SUV is the first Lincoln to offer the convenience of ActiveGlide™* hands-free highway driver-assist technology. This exciting technology covers more than 130,000 prequalified miles of North American roads. This guide identifies the few necessary activations and steps you need to take to fully enjoy hands-free highway driving using ActiveGlide.

Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver's attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle. Lincoln ActiveGlide is a hands-free highway driving feature. Only remove hands from the steering wheel when in a Hands-Free Blue Zone. Always watch the road and be prepared to resume control of the vehicle. It does not replace safe driving. See Owner's Manual for details and limitations. Requires purchased 3-year connected service plan with regular map updates, Lincoln Way App, and modem activation.

Using Lincoln ActiveGlide

How it Works

ActiveGlide builds upon available Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering and Speed Sign Recognition. It allows you to operate your vehicle hands-free while you are monitored by a driver-facing camera to make sure you're keeping your eyes on the road, with the potential for more enhancements in the future.

Optimizing ActiveGlide

ActiveGlide functionality relies on a driver-facing camera to monitor the driver's eyes. The camera is located on top of the steering column, just behind the steering wheel. Be sure you are aware of the camera location. Remember, when you can see the entire camera, it ensures that the camera can see your eyes.

If warnings occur, a few simple adjustments can be made while using ActiveGlide, including:

  • Raising the seat height
  • Adjusting the steering wheel angle
  • Removing facial coverings or certain sunglasses
  • Centering yourself in the seat

Activation and Set-Up

For ActiveGlide to work, first, the Lincoln Connect™* modem needs to be authorized through the Lincoln Way™ ** App.
Next, on the SYNC® 4† display, tap Features > Driver Assistance > Cruise Control and verify that Lane Centering with Hands-Free is turned ON.

* Lincoln Connect, the Lincoln Way App and complimentary Connected Service are required for remote features (see Lincoln Way Terms for details). Connected service and features depend on compatible AT&T network availability. Evolving technology/cellular networks/vehicle capability may limit functionality and prevent operation of connected features. Connected service excludes Wi‑Fi hotspot.
** Lincoln Way App, compatible with select smartphone platforms, is available via a download. Message and data rates may apply.
† Don't drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
